I have decided to learn between five and 10 new words a day.  I am finding the beauty of words and phrases fascinating.   I am not expecting to refine my vocabulary for common use among others, but its always pleasurable to read something well explained.

Listening to George FM today, I heard the worst interpretation of the late Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing”.   George FM, who normally entertains me with amazing tunes, isn’t the first or last to destroy legends.   I personally have a theory that great artists cannot be imitated.  …It is what makes the likes of Aretha Franklin, Louis Armstrong, Steve Wonder and Marvin Gaye so unique…  No matter how great a musician/singer you are, you cannot go against pure genius.

Falling

 … The sound of a hungry cat is not the most desirable way to be woken.   It was loud and sharp, announcing the beginning of my week.   It was Monday again and the weekend was just not long enough.   As I lay there in my warm bed, without moving a muscle, I was faced with two important choices:  The YES and NO, if we must name them.

Before any decisions were made, I quickly put together the good and bad things in my surroundings…  The cat screaming for food, 06:10 AM, cold and windy outside…  A lovely partner, a job to go to, the blessing of being alive and well…  And, the check mate, the wellbeing of my family, here and there…   I instantly felt a feeling of satisfaction, and so I went forth into the day, against the odds…

I am finishing reading, Dubliners by James Joyce.   This is in preparation to Ulysses, which is considerate to be Joyce’s Magnum Opus.   I have Ulysses in my shelf for a couple years now, waiting for the right moment…  I am like that, I take each book as a challenge and it’s time for Ulysses.
